World Suicide Prevention Day

Thanks to Rose Stephens-Booker, the actress playing Ilse, for bringing attention to this important event.

“Gearing up for Spring Awakening at Dominion Stage this fall and exploring those teenage feelings of angst again brings back lots of memories. As a cast we’ve had to explore the hard truth of suicide, rape, human sexuality, and much more. That process has been rough at times for me and I’m sure for others in the cast but we did that exploration together and got through it together.”

“Monday, September 10th was WHO Suicide Prevention Day and it reminds me that while those who get to that point, feel like there is no other option, but, there IS another way, a way to get through it, and many who want to help. In the last 45 years suicide rates have increased by 60% worldwide — please help me spread the word about prevention.”
