Theater Troupe Takes Challenging Plunge With Big, Brassy Musical

The Sun Gazette has posted an article talking to Music Director J. Michael D’Haviland and features Dominion’s Dreamgirls.

“I think the audience will be able to relate to the heroes and heroines in the story, as well as the importance of being a tight-knit family, especially when fame and fortune rear their heads,” said J. Michael d’Haviland, the show’s musical director. “It’s really about how this group of characters, who have been together for so long, go through the process, grow apart and then come back together again.”

Dominion Stage Presents DREAMGIRLS
Spanning from the fabulous sixties through the arrival of disco, DREAMGIRLS follows the behind-the-scenes reality of the entertainment industry and the “business” part of show business. A musical extravaganza that follows the creation and career of a female singing trio, the show provides the highs and lows that come with fame, greed and misguided loyalties, and the need for defining what is important in following one’s dreams.

Directed by Anya Randall Nebel
